Thunderbolts*

Rating: 8 out of 10.

Thunderbolts* is good, really good. It’s better than I was expecting (not that I was expecting it to be bad, I’ve generally liked all of Marvel’s movie and TV shows). Despite everyone being at each other’s throats most of the time, the team chemistry works well. I’m also glad Marvel finally addressed the lack Oscorp within the MCU as we now officially have OXEgroup which is running all sorts of questionable and illegal experiments under Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. I am sad they aren’t keeping the Thunderbolts team name, but it sort of makes sense. Honestly my biggest gripe is that after all is said and done it feels like Bucky is done pursuing de Fontaine for her egregious acts, maybe (hopefully) in whatever comes next for Bucky they reveal that he’s not done trying to take down Valentina despite his new situation. It makes sense why the rest of the team have decided to be a bit blasé when it comes to the followthrough. Also be prepared to not hate knockoff Cap, U.S. Agent John Walker. He’s somewhat likeable in this compared to his appearance in Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
