Monday Roundup: December 16, 2024

There was a time when these dominated the posts. And then there was a time where we seem to have forgotten about them. This is neither of those times, it’s simply “This time!”

So what’s been going on with us. McKenzie is wrapping up her teaching semester. That has meant zero free time to put into anything here, but means lots of free time coming up between semesters. So expect her output to kick up a bit here. I know she has had many things she has been wanting to work on. Really too many to put down in words, so just keep your eyes peeled like grapes for what may be coming from her.

On the other side of the state, I know Ian has a couple things in the works as well. Some of it a bit down the line, some of it behind the scenes, and some of it involves a costume and vigilante work in the night bringing justice to the world. So any time you don’t see a post from Ian, just remember that he could be out making a difference saving the world.

As for me and my 9 7/8 finger writing style, well, I’m not exactly getting used to it yet, but it will get there. I probably should do some typing speed test things to push it further along.

In case you hadn’t noticed, I finished the alphabet. Took way too long, and derailed from every aspect of life. I enjoyed most of it, learned a lot about movie titles. I mean really, for X there are basically two options of American horror. My intent was X-tro, but I discovered it is not streaming anywhere and a physical copy is like $150. The other option was just X, which gets weird when you try to look for it. I suggest always including Mia Goth in the search (Not just “Goth X movie”, that gets mixed results.) And with Y, just expect that “Yellow” will be in the title. While I knew that “Zombie” would be the primary Z options, I didn’t realize that it was an exclusive club. So as a writer, I find myself making a note to title things with those bottom of the list letters (And find myself wondering if Sue Grafton has gotten down to these yet in her “A is for Alibi” detective series.)

But moving on. I finally found the book I was reading. Now I realize you may not have known I had lost it, but it was making me nuts. Expect some print posts coming soon. And I realize some aspects have been a bit lesser than others, so I will do a board game this week as well.

The big thing you can expect from me tonight though will be Dexter: Original Sin. And I will be doing this in an episodic manner every week. I don’t want to spoil my thoughts here, but be on the lookout!

Until next time, remember to keep looking up!
