It is interesting how often
It is interesting how often a plan is formulated in my mind and then fails to emerge like a demigod erupting from my skull like Athena did from Zeus. I suppose that is for the best, as I would have to clean a lot more often.
A wonderful example of this is practically in the wording there. “I’ve got an idea forming in my head.” A wonderful line from Time Bandits that I have quoted frequently. In case anyone doesn’t know, Apple TV recently launched a 10 episode series re-imagining Time Bandits. Now I don’t know how you look at something Terry Gilliam did and say “I can do that better.” I wanted to consume the ten episodes and do a season review of it. Alas, it is dropping weekly and I am about to drop Apple TV. Not that Apple is too expensive, but I have long said that the problem with streaming is that individually they are affordable, but when you have 6 or 7 of them, suddenly you are paying $100 a month for more content than is reasonable to try and consume. So I find myself passing on Time Bandits. For the moment.
But I did recently get new glasses. Why do you care about this? You may not, but it does reopen the world of subtitled works to me. I have several that I had been working on trying to finish when I lost my old glasses. Oddly two of them are similar. Tomorrow is a South Korean show about Grim Reapers, specifically a team of them who work to prevent suicides because it flaunts the intended life span of an individual. Uncanny Counter is a South Korean show about Grim Reapers, specifically a team of them who work to thwart demons on Earth that are possessing humans and endangering their souls by committing atrocities. Both of these I started because of the Grim Reaper aspect. I want to expound further here, but alas, that should be done in the friendly confines of their pending reviews.
I have gotten through my temporary block of not reading (this was not glasses related.) So there will be more book review material posting soon, as you saw with Elric over the weekend.
Originally this weekly posting was intended to be the place where we would talk about what we were working on and would be posting about soon. I can honestly say that I don’t know what I am working on this week. It’s Monday and I will be doing “stuff”, but I can’t honestly foreshadow what those things will be.
McKenzie and Ian are still working quietly through excessive scheduling things as they work on contributions. We have gotten part of the logo back and will be revealing that piece this week. I hope. There are 5 different logos we need for the site. And I am excited to see them all.
With that, I will let you get back to your day as I proceed to run around burning gasoline for the next 4 hours!
