It’s that time again. I know this because my phone told me so. So what do we have going on? I have had a lot going on.
Starting with me being in Springfield for six days. That involved spending time with Cullen Bunn plotting and planning how best to take over the world (through our writing and creative projects of course.) And going into Tremendicon where I was a guest. It is always a fun show. Lots of fellow creators there and friends. Lots of opportunity as well. Some of which I have snatched up and will be making the most of.
Some of that directly involves the site as I got review material and made connections to keep building things. Some of it was a more personal level with new projects in the pipeline for me creatively. I look forward to taking advantage of the opportunities before me and changing my path in life for the better.
Some of what I did in rapid fire form here.
Realized the site needs business cards for me to pass out to promote it.
Played the relatively new Star Wars Unlimited CCG. It was fun and I enjoyed it. Wouldn’t mind playing it again but I have no desire to start a new CCG. Magic is enough of a CCG money pit for me.
Met many authors whose work will be showcased here in reviews in the coming months (I already have a couple books I need to write up and a few I am in the middle of reading. Had laptop issues and got nothing written up while I was away.) New ones include: Arcane Knight from Timothy McGowen, Waking the Weaver by Aaron Conaway, Rex Draconis by Richard Knaak, A Date with Death by Scott Colby, Papa Lucy & the Boneman by Jason Fischer, The Hand of God by Tony Acree, Ladyhoppers by Sarah Therese Pelletier and Scott James Taylor.
There are a few others I got but I’m not sure they will be reviewed. I finished my Ken Follett book Never. Fantastic book and I totally don’t regret staying up til 430 finishing it and not getting much sleep that night!
And I am looking forward to listening to Atomic Broadcasting to see what their material is like.
But this site isn’t all me, as you know. So what are Ian and McKenzie up to you ask?
Ian has had a busier than usual week at work and it has kept him from being able to start a new book yet (Rex Draconis may be that book, but he doesn’t know that yet. Don’t tell him.) He has played a little of a newish Steam game called Balatro, but not enough yet to share his thoughts on it.
McKenzie has begun rewatching the True Blood series and is listening to the audiobook The Death of Jane Lawrence.
That’s about it for this edition of the Roundup. I can say with certainty that next week my portion will be a lot less exciting, unless you want to hear about dental extractions.
