This movie stars Maisie Williams and Bill Milner. Two high school kids who have that awkward like each other but don’t know how to advance sort of relationship. Until one night when he heads over to help her with school work only to interrupt a home invasion. This results in him being shot and part of his phone getting lodged in his brain allowing him to access tech with only a thought.

In an attempt to try and help his would be love interest, he starts using his ability to low key deal with the ones who attacked her. And then escalates to the point of trying to clean up the neighborhood of the dealers and hoods.

For me, this is the first movie I have seen Maisie in outside of her role in Game of Thrones. I want to see more of her. She is quite good, and at no time did I think of her GOT role. Which is nice. (She did a few Doctor Who episodes as well, didn’t want to get called out on semantics of having seen those!) Being a British film, there weren’t any other actors I recognized. But with a film like this, that’s not unexpected. Most of the cast were “school age.”

Based on a novel by Kevin Brooks and directed by Adam Randall, this movie is a sleeper. Watching this makes me want to get the book and read it. It is reminiscent to me of a comic series called ex-machina. Similar set up but with a politician being the one who gets the ability.

As with most movies I enjoy, I try and hold off throwing too many spoilers out there. I suggest you go check this out. Try something different and see where it leads.

I give this a solid 7 stars.
